I'm pleased to announce that I just sent a model to kenofchaos a DA member with great art skills, who is going to produce some of his amazing artwork featuring my Craw fish coupe ship & perhaps a few others-soon. He also has been encouraged to have a go at texturing that baby too. Hopefully this is the first collaboration of many with Kenneth. And the beginning of future collaborations here at DA!! Every time i log on I'm humbled by the talent here, I cannot help but thinking of the possibilities of these mini collaborations to strengthen the work produced. I think I'm a pretty good artist, but I acknowledge holes in my game. I'm shoring up t

thanks for the tip, I'm in the process of revising my process so I'll apply this to my future builds. presently I'm trying to solve why my models render so poorly in Poser, so I've been testing & rebuilding them,my current theory is less pieces=better design=better model not really having formal training I went about them with an assemblage mentality when I should've embraced extrusion sooner. I'm also very concerned by file size due to the sheer scale of my large ship & that keeps factoring into it's design as well. it is clear I would benefit from training & better equipment, I'm looking into a kickstarter campaign to acquire: a new cpu with at least a tera-byte, better graphics card, Bongo & training, t-splines and training, and I have Adobe AI/PS CS5 I just need to learn it. I would also get Maya if possible, down the road. but my short goal must be reached 1st of selling my models to the Poser/Daz communities,to generate capitol. on an uptick I've started building my web page for 3Dv8ion.com!!
nice! website looks good!

If you want to Skype I think there's a better way of going about it. You need to know if you are dedicated to nurbs modelling or poly modelling.

In my case I've developed a method of using both to 3d print and make prototypes. But that is insanely dificult because it's hard to master 3 programs at once. I'm only doing this because I want to work in between entertainment design and product design.

Product design i've got because I do it in university.

but all the poly and mesh based systems I've learned my self.

2 years ago I noticed that in between my passion for object and animation, entertainment and video game/concept design. 3d modelling was smack in the middle of both. So I thought, if I could spend 1000 hours mastering the two very different systems of 3d modelling and I could be useful in both industries, and achieve my goal of being able do design and make anything you can think of.

If you want to talk about what I've learned or tell me about your process to better inform you of where to go next let me know, skype is free.
add me on skype I could learn a better way to find a balance between detail and ram

I have Skype my address is dorian.cryer1
